This site went through 514 year end film summaries and concluded that Lost in Translation appeared on the most Top 10 lists. Very handy reference site. Other facts:
  • 237 critics did not think that Return of the King was one of the top ten films of the year (!!)
  • 92 critics picked ROTK as number one, far more than any other film (second was 53 for Lost in Translation)
  • The top three were nominated for Oscars, but numbers four and five were not (American Splendor and Finding Nemo).
  • Seabiscuit, which was nominated, placed 16th.
