ROTTEN TOMATOES: This week's movies
There are three wide releases (2000+ theaters) this week:

  • The Brave One. 73% positive reviews. Jodie Foster as Charles Bronson!
  • Mr. Woodcock. 20% positive reviews. Billy Bob plays Bad Santa yet again, this time as a gym teacher.
  • Dragon Wars. No reviews. Round up the usual giant flying serpent suspects.

There are also three films in limited distro or sneak previews:

  • The Hunting Party. 47% positive reviews, 600 theaters. Richard Gere in a film about a devastated post-war Bosnia. Even if you expect the Spanish Inquisition, you probably will be surprised when I tell you it's a wacky comedy!
  • Silk. 0% positive reviews, 122 theaters. Critics describe it as a soporific misfire attempting to be an elegant period romance.
  • The Kingdom. 850 sneak previews on Saturday. No reviews yet. A team of U.S. government agents is sent to investigate the bombing of an American facility in the Middle East. Stars Chris Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner.
