Composer Marvin Hamlisch dies at 68

He wrote many tunes and scores, and adapted many others. You probably hear one of his adaptations every day in summer: his score from The Sting, which was based on a Scott Joplin piano rag, is played by many ice cream trucks, so it is ubiquitous during this time of year.

He wrote the music for A Chorus Line, and perhaps most famously, Streisand's The Way We Were.
