Trump: ‘It is Not Freedom of the Press’ When Media Are ‘Allowed to Say and Write What They Want’

Trump: ‘It is Not Freedom of the Press’ When Media Are ‘Allowed to Say and Write What They Want’

Yeah.

I remember reading about that in history class. Our Founding Fathers specifically added a footnote to the First Amendment stating that there can be no law infringing upon the freedom of the press UNLESS the press wants to make fun of bloviating candidates or expose their failings. Then those damned reporters better shut their traps (or as they called them in colonial days, "trappes").

On a serious note, that freedom is not absolute. Trump has the right to sue if he feels that any story is libelous, but there's nothing he can do except complain if he feels that reporting is one-sided and he's on the wrong side.
