NCAAF College Football Scores - Week 9
Four of the undefeated teams lost, and the other three weren't dominant.
#2 Michigan beat Michigan State 32-23. That was kind of a disappointment for them, since they were favored by 24-25.
#3 Clemson had quite a scare against #13 Florida State. They were down by eight after three quarters, but eventually emerged victorious. Barely.
#4 Washington won, but lost their aura of invincibility by allowing #17 Utah to come back from a 14-0 deficit to tie the game up in the fourth quarter.
#7 Nebraska lost, but they were heavy underdogs so that was no big surprise. #11 Wisconsin took the game in overtime.
#8 Baylor lost to the unranked Texas Longhorns, 35-34. Texas was 3-4 coming in.
#10 West Virginia lost pretty big (37-20) to conference rival Oklahoma State. State was ranked 28th in both polls, so they may rejoin the top 25 next week.
#13 Boise State also lost to a conference rival, Wyoming, by a 30-28 score.
That covers all the undefeated teams except two: Alabama had a week off, and Western Michigan plays Tuesday.
Tuesday? Who plays on a Tuesday?
Anyway, the top four will be essentially unaffected by these results, but there will be considerable movement in the lower echelons. Wisconsin will definitely get back into the top ten, but nothing else is very certain.
This coming week is when the playoff committee comes out with its first set of rankings. (ESPN Tuesday at 7 Eastern)
