Michael Shannon says if you support Trump, it's time for you to die

Way to promote that new movie, Mikey boy!

"“There’s a lot of old people who need to realize they’ve had a nice life, and it’s time for them to move on because they’re the ones who go out and vote for these assholes. No offense to the seniors out there. My mom’s a senior citizen. But if you’re voting for Trump, it’s time for the urn."

Ah, yes, Michael Shannon, learned man of letters and all-around analytical genius ... his Wikipedia biography says "he attended high school." Impressive credentials!

By the way, the new movie he's promoting is a violent thriller, the kind of movie attended by steak-and-potatoes audiences, not the kind of fey, Oscar-bait, Sundancy movie attended by people who eat Quinoa with their Quiche while reading HuffPo. In other words, he needs as many Trump voters as possible in those seats.

Just in passing let me point out that Trump did better than Mitt Romney among voters aged 18-29 and worse than Mitt among voters 65 or older.

The same exit poll data shows that Trump made his biggest gains over Romney among the voters making less than $30,000 per year. The Democrats used to own this group; Romney lost it by 28 points. Trump, however, narrowed that to only 12. Given that this group represents 17% of the electorate, this group alone caused a national shift of 2.7 points from 2012 to 2016, and that corresponds almost exactly to the entire national shift! Romney lost the popular vote by 3.9 points and Trump is currently losing by 1.1.

  1. The same exit poll data also shows Hillary Clinton won all the swing states.

  2. Also, if these Trump voters are 'tough people' and not quinoa and quiche eaters, I'm sure they're tough enough to take a few insults.

You're not suggesting these 'tough people' are also sensitive, politically correct types who need safe spaces to run to because some actor told them to drop dead, are you?

  3. My greastest hope this election was that neither Turd Sandwich nor Giant Douche would crack 270, and we'd end up with someone else altogether in the White House. I have to admit, though, a part of me wanted Trump to win just so we'd get to see the ensuing meltdown of his self-proclaimed morally superior opposition. That part of me is not disappointed thus far.

    1. I think the self proclaimed morally superior are those who think they have some divine right to tell others who they can and can't marry and what women can and can't do with their bodies and what all adults can and can't ingest into their bodies.

I'm not the one calling myself a 'Christian' as in 'Christian conservative' or, even worse, a 'values voter', as in nobody but them has values.
