Trump declines to use the word 'genocide' in describing Armenian deaths

I'm kinda surprised.

Trump, for all his faults, is usually one to call a spade a spade (as he sees it).

Of course, he's in the company of the last two Republican Presidents and the last two democratic Presidents. Only Jimmy Carter and The Gipper were willing to tell it like it is.

(The USA feels that good relations with Turkey are critical to its foreign policy strategy.)

  1. For the 100th anniversary of this, it's time for Turkey to own up to it. Everyone who perpetrated it is dead. That this succeeded was proof to Hitler that the big lie works. It would be like us pretending we didn't kill off all those Indians - just pointless non-credible denial of uncomfortable history.
Really, the Turks should take the lead in admitting this. If they don't, the world should start without them. Trump-bashing (though this would be a chance for him to build a legacy) aside, high time to cut the crap.

  2. Turks hate Armenians, and vice versa. That hatred hasn't died since the genocide and won't soon. Turkey will never apologize until the West forces them, and as long as the west thinks it needs to fly over turkey they won't do that.
