Republican voters act more like they're in a cult than in a tribe. This is consistent with their mindless chanting of 'fake news' at every critical story of Trump or the Republican Party.
The story here is the Dems took a traditional 20 point lead and narrowed it to 5 points in an extremely republican area. This story downplays that and it's incorrect to do so. That's a massive shift. Gray areas, like those hillary lost in the election, should swing hard left if that margin is any predictor. If trump is still there for the midterms, the GOP should face record losses in both houses.
And the whistling past the graveyard continues...
Trump won by 1.5% and Handel won by 5%. So Ossof did worse than HRC?
1.In my first post I meant to write "Base Republican voters" not 'Republican voters."Ossoff got 47% of the vote, HRC got 46% of the vote in this district. Trump won by only 1.5% because there were a fair number of 'never Trump Republicans' in this district who likely voted for either Governor Johnson or Evan McMullin. In this special election they voted Republican, as they voted for Representative Price in the 2016 general election. (Price got around 61% of the vote in 2016.)
