Aaron Judge is the anti-DiMaggio

Aaron Judge is the anti-DiMaggio

Instead of the consecutive game hitting record, he has set the consecutive game whiffing record - 36 games in a row with at least one K. He is averaging 1.4 Ks per game for the year, and is on pace for 220, which would leave him three short of the single season record. Reggie Jackson is the all -time career strikeout leader, and he never fanned more than 171 times in a season, but it's a whole new world out there now.

Bobby Bonds' record of 189 Ks in a season, set in 1970, was the record until 2004. But it has been topped 20 more times since then!

  1. Going for more home runs leads to more strike outs.

  2. Weird to think people used to give Jose Canseco grief for striking out 150 times a season. LOL. Now he'd almost be considered a contact hitter.
