Hannity Poised to Win the Week in New Timeslot

Fox News chose to put Hannity in direct competition with Rachel Maddow, whose show had been the #1 cable news program in the third quarter. He beat her handily.

Almost needless to say, Maddow did not lose viewers to Hannity. (They have few if any crossover viewers.) It's a matter of more viewers in the timeslot. Maddow averaged 599k viewers per day in the 25-54 demographic, almost identical to her quarterly average of 606. She lost because Hannity's new time slot caused his 25-54 viewership to soar to 713k from his quarterly average of 533.

  1. People have many outlets to watch an anti-Trump perspective (what I'd call a reasonable perspective). If they want to watch a pro-Trump perspective - they only really have Fox. Advantage goes to Hannity.
