Embedded : NPR - "Trump Stories: The Apprentice"

"13 years ago, one TV show changed how the world saw Donald Trump. Today, the story of how it became a hit, why it may have helped his eventual election and how the people involved feel about it now."

SPOILER ALERT: They feel regretful. The following starts at 28:22 and ends at 30:36

“We recorded constantly, we went into the boardroom to set up discussions about how and who should get fired [on the show] without talking and saying directly who got fired, so there was a big ,long exchange, all of which was recorded. Out of those exchanges came some really unfathomably despicable words said by this guy who is a TV star. I heard it, I watched it and those things are somewhere in some warehouse.

In addition to disparaging remarks about women, Trump's comments were "very much a racist issue” directed at African-Americans, Jewish groups and other minorities.

“When you heard these things there’s the audible gasp that is quickly followed by a cough and then you just sort of carry on.”

  1. Are we (or anybody else) in any way surprised?

    1. I'm actually surprised. I didn't think he cared about anything but himself (and his family) enough to be racist.

Sexist absolutely because he abuses women, but I always thought his attitude was 'what do I care if they're a minority?'

  2. I wish the tapes would leak so then his supporters would . . . rally around him even stronger I guess. Ah, fuck it.
