Dreamers should stay, American voters say by an 8-1 margin
That sounds good, but you know what scares me? The one (in that eight-to-one margin). 11% of Americans think we should deport people who have no memory of any other country to a place where they have no roots and probably don't even speak the language. That is even with the knowledge that many of those dreamers are performing vital jobs in areas like first response and the US military. Worse yet, only 64% of Republicans think that dreamers should get some path to citizenship. After a while there's no sense even calling yourself a Republican. You may just as well admit that the upper-case "R" actually stands for "Racist."
I am a registered Republican, and an admirer of Ronald Reagan and even of Barry Goldwater in many ways. But these sorts of things, and the latest trends in the GOP, make my skin crawl.
On a lighter note, only 6% of Americans are opposed to medical marijuana.
