Porn age-checks risk pushing children to dark web, officials warn

"From May people will have to prove they are 18 before accessing UK websites. Ministers say the move is part of a plan to make the UK 'the safest place in the world for children to be online.'"

I suppose teenagers might turn to the dark web, as some UK policy-makers fear, but that seems like a pretty extreme behavior change, requiring a different browser, good VPN software, and an unfamiliar environment. I try to read up on what's going on with the Dark Web, but I can't find any good reason to use it, so I've never even downloaded the Tor browser. Why would the kids go through all that when they can just go to non-UK sites instead?
