The 22 agencies and programs Trump's budget would eliminate

The cuts would eliminate government funding for PBS, NPR, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the National Endowments for Arts and the Humanities. I can understand those cuts because those things are "nice to haves" not "must haves," and the advocates of small government believe that government's job is restricted to "must have" programs.

On the other hand, cutting the Chemical Safety Board may not be quite so arbitrary.

  1. If the United States is similar to Canada, NPR is the only radio that millions of people can access. (Just as is the CBC in Canada.) I'm not sure if radio counts as a 'must have' though.

Given the choice though between funding broadband internet and NPR, obviously broadband should take precedence.

In regards to the Institute for Museum and Library Services, I have to agree with Bob Marley on that:

    If you know your history
Then you would know where you coming from
Then you wouldn't have to ask me
Who the heck do I think I am
