The Rangers’ Rougned Odor is the first hitter ever to hit a homer and draw five walks in the same game.

He is one of the least likely players in MLB to achieve such a record, because he rarely walks. In 2016 he drew only 19 walks in 150 games, which means he draws walks at about 1/3 the frequency of an average major leaguer.

  1. I saw that on ESPN. He is he 4th player with 1 homer and 5 walks but the others needed extra innings to get 5 walks and they were walked intentionally at least once. Rougned Odor is the only player with a homer and 5 unintentional walks in 9 innings

  2. I read the name as “Rogue Odor”. In which case it would make sense that the catcher demanded from the pitcher to have him walk whenever possible. I don’t follow the game, which is why I misread it.
