The Radicalization of Bedtime Stories

More and more parents are buying picture books with politically progressive messages for their young children.

This is mostly a liberal/progressive movement. There are some children’s books with conservative messages, but those are few and far between. I do have to love this one.

  1. Yeah, I remember how much I used to hate the absolutely vicious Anti-Alt-Right messages in Dr. Seuss’ “The Sneetches on the Beaches” and “Yertle the Turtle King”. It’s a shame how Liberal parents are trying to indoctrinate their children with what they see as fundamental moral decency.

    1. In many ways Dr Seuss’ (Theodor Geisl) children’s books were somewhat meant as radical messages. Dr Seuss was a leading allied cartoonist and ‘propagandist’ during World War II and, while many of his cartoons were aimed at lifting the spirits of Americans, especially during 1942, a number of his cartoons used anti Axis nation stereotypes, especially his drawings of Japanese military leaders.

It is thought by many Dr Seuss followers that his children’s books after World War II were partly an apology for engaging in foreign stereotyping.
