  2. I dunno. It didn’t work that well with Herostratus, given that you and I know his name more than two millennia later.

    1. As noted previously, we know Herostratus primarily because the Ephesians didn’t know about the “Streisand Effect”. (Paul mentioned it in his letter much later.) The incident of the burning of the Temple at Ephesus got memetic in later centuries because it apparently coincided with the birth of Alexander the Great.
