  1. You’re starting with the fallacious assumption that everyone has equal opportunity to vote, when in fact a significant portion of US history has been devoted to disenfranchising specific sections of the population.

  2. Why does everyone think that high voter turnout is a good thing, and is here presented as an example of good news. Surely, the better result would be fewer but more knowledgeable voters turning out. And because you can’t tell accurately who those knowledgeable voters are, I’m happier taking my chances with low voter turnout being more likely to produce an educated or at least thoughtful electorate.
