Colbert is catching the Tonight Show in the key demos

Late night TV ratings

Colbert is gaining on but still trails Fallon in the key youth demographics, yet Colbert leads by a wide margin in total viewers.

How could that be? It is because Colbert totally owns the old geezer market. Colbert’s average viewer is 63.3 years old!

  1. I guess I am the exception to the rule: I am a big Colbert fan, but I am only 62.8 years old!

      1. On the verge of death?

Seriously, I don’t know, but my guess is that it’s probably comparable to Colbert’s.

  2. Can’t watch that show anymore, even Youtube clips, because of Fallon. He fawns over shallow celeb guests with fake laughter & childish expressions & comments to the degree that it’s painful to watch. He’s never really seemed comfortable in this talk show role. He’s at heart an SNL guy, doing silly skits & impressions to create laughter. Kinda reminds me of Leno a little these days: trying to create phony companionship with a black bandleader, who can barely hide his gritted teeth & rolling eyes. Fallon will probably quit before he’s fired; you can see the sweaty stress in him sometimes and it’s all adding up fast, esp. when booze is added into the mix.

  3. Wow. Fallon absolutely sucks. The funniest interview he did was the recent one with Dennis Miller, where Fallon fake laughs like a hyena through grouchy grampa’s dated and lame schtick.

    1. Jimmy Fallon is good at many things. Talk is not one of them. You’d think that would be an important criterion for talk show hosts, but I guess you’d think wrong.
