“You now have AMI admitting that the payments were made for the purpose of influencing the election”

“Pecker offered to help deal with negative stories about that presidential candidate’s relationships with women by, among other things, assisting the campaign in identifying such stories so they could be purchased and their publication avoided.”

(“AMI” is the company which publishes The National Enquirer. “Pecker” is the head of that company.)

“It’s a critical admission because, if true, it transforms the payment into a criminal violation as opposed to simply a private transaction.”

  1. Wow… now we’re getting this type of information from The National Enquirer?? That’s like getting news about the President’s limo from Jay Leno’s Garage.

Please tell me this is a parody.

    1. The info is not from Enquirer. It’s from Trump’s friend David Pecker, whose company publishes the Enquirer. It is his non-prosecution agreement, which calls for his full co-operation.

In one sense, there is nothing new because we already knew of the Enquirer’s “catch and kill” policy, but we learned from his testimony that the purpose of that policy was to influence the election, and this was decided in agreement with Cohen and an as yet unnamed official of the Trump campaign.
