The “problem” is with the Party. It has been dumbed down over the last 25 years to the point where it fell for a BS artist and empty suit who is neither a conservative nor a Republican all in the name of beating Hilary – even though there were probably several Republicans who could have done that. If you told me 4 years ago that I would be seriously considering voting for a Democrat in 2020 I would have fallen out of my chair laughing. My list of presidential votes is the same as yours starting with Bush in 1988, except while I voted for Kasich in the NY Primary in 2016, I voted for Gary Johnson in the general. There was no way I was going to vote for Hillary if I had any choice, but I have decided I will seriously consider voting for a Democrat if they are even reasonably moderate. But Bernie Sanders, while seeming to be a nice enough man, is so far left that he would leave me no choice but to vote for Trump. I doubt he will win, but I gave Trump no shot at getting the nomination at this point 4 years ago. My biggest concern is that whoever does get the Democratic nomination will have moved so far left to counter Bernie that Trump will win or worse yet that we would be better off of he did.
