“Authorities say a Florida man stole collectible coins worth tens of thousands of dollars, then ran them through grocery store change machines that returned just a fraction of their value.”
He would have received less than face value, because those CoinStar machines take a commission.
Ah, Fark is on the case:
Turns out 20 is a typo. He’s really 40.
The story states the thief is 20 years old. I find it very hard to believe that the man whose picture is in the story is 20 years old. That is only 2 years out of high school. I know poverty is rough, and meth is a hell of a drug, but really?
