I think you’re right in that the short-term result was the best possible outcome. On the other hand, (1) you can only use that trick once; (2) NK is not going to believe a word we say from now on.

Which is the primary reason why the Obama camp chose “Uncle Joe” Biden as his running mate. Anybody who might want to take a shot at Obama would likely hold off due to the fact that Biden would then become President and that would be worse than Obama!
