The Stupid Nazi Plot You’ve Never Heard Of

“Because we live in a time when prominent commentators are openly defending the ‘good parts’ of the Nazi regime, it’s important to remember that they were gigantic morons from start to finish.”

No! Hitler was a dumb and evil guy?

Related: “Hitler was actually an incompetent, lazy egomaniac and his government was an absolute clown show

“He was obsessed with the media and celebrity, and often seems to have viewed himself through that lens. He once described himself as “the greatest actor in Europe,” and wrote to a friend, “I believe my life is the greatest novel in world history. He was deeply insecure about his own lack of knowledge, preferring to either ignore information that contradicted his preconceptions, or to lash out at the expertise of others. He hated being laughed at, but enjoyed it when other people were the butt of the joke (he would perform mocking impressions of people he disliked).”

“Hitler was incredibly lazy. Even when he was in Berlin he wouldn’t get out of bed until after 11 a.m., and wouldn’t do much before lunch other than read what the newspapers had to say about him.”

“His government was constantly in chaos. He procrastinated wildly when asked to make difficult decisions, and would often end up relying on gut feeling.”

Luckily, we could never have a similar guy ever come to power in a powerful country again.

  1. Lazy is one word that even most anti-Trumpers wouldn’t use to describe the Prez. If he were sleeping in every day and not getting much work done, he’d be a hero to the left!

    1. The major difference is that Trump sits around and watches TV until 11 rather than sleeping. Trump only sleeps 4-5 hours per night. Since he is obese and 72, sleep is probably difficult for him.

But that doesn’t mean he’s working. He’s basically obsessing over what people are saying about him.

  2. He murdered 6m people and vied for world domination. Weren’t those the real issues? A recently decimated Germany thrived under his regime.

  3. “Luckily, we could never have a similar guy ever come to power in a powerful country again.”

    1. If you just read down that description, the parallels are uncanny. I suppose the author probably had that as a hidden agenda.

  4. Since Raeder plays a big role in this goofiness with his morality schtick it should be mentioned that in April of 1931 he had a young naval officer, who was in fact a notorious poon hound, dismissed from the service for “conduct unbecoming to an officer and gentleman”. On June 1 the bootee joined the Nazi Party, on July 14 he signed on with the rising SS. Quickly impressing the shit out of Himmler, he became the head of what later became the SD on August 1. One Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich.
