Hickenlooper destroys his debate opponents

OK, maybe not. CNN felt the winners were Kamala and Buttigieg

Dave Barry’s take on the Democratic debates

  1. It’s not nasty or cynical to point out that your opponent is obviously a fucking fossil. This could work pretty well against Trump too.

Harris is not my first or second or third choice, but this is no more out of bounds than pointing out that Robert Byrd had been in the Klan.

    1. Agreed. Sounds like we’re going down the 2016 road again. The Democratic Party ‘anointed’ Hillary because it was her ‘turn’, and now we’re going down this path again with Biden. Then if Trump wins again, the Biden voters will blame how nasty the Bernie and Warren supporters were towards his campaign.

Here’s a thought: stay in your lane Joe. You’re a washed up fossil who’s ONLY salespitch is a connection to Obama. You know, the ‘well spoken, articulate’ black Senator, according to him before he was chosen as VP?

Biden has all the same pitfalls as Hillary, and probably more. He wants to run on the ‘by golly, at least we were civil!’ platform of do nothingness, fondly reminiscing of the days where he could exchange empty platitudes and gestures with racist Senators.

I’m not voting for someone who’s telling the 0.1% to relax, your standard of living isn’t going to change – while propping up ‘his generation’ of boomers who’ve driven the US into this mess over everyone else.

Quite frankly, if Biden wins the nomination, this country deserves four more years of Trump. Then maybe, FINALLY, the corporate Democrats will learn and sit the fuck down. You’re not needed, or wanted.

  2. Kamala Harris seems to be a nasty person. Her going after Biden on busing was based on her realizing that many people wouldn’t be aware of the context of the issue in the 1970s with busing being extremely unpopular.

Of course, it was up to Biden to point that out “you can only get so far ahead of public opinion” or some such comment and he didn’t.

So, I don’t think either of them looked good.

However, in regards to Harris being willing to engage in cynical tactics, I don’t know whether that’s a good or bad thing in a general election against Donald Trump and I don’t think that would make for a good President. I think she’d be a very effective ‘attack dog’ as a Vice Presidential nominee though.
