Now THAT is sound theology

“Christians are going to have to rethink their conception of the End Times because President Trump is on the verge of creating a literal utopia on earth.”

What can you say? When they’re right, they’re right.

  1. I thought there weren’t really any dinosaurs, just fossils of animals that never really existed, planted by God to test people’s faith. Because Creation happened only 4,500 or 6,000 years ago or something.

    1. That kind of sums up the difference between science and religion. One requirement of a scientific theory is that it be falsifiable, that it is capable of being proven false. That is not to say it has to BE proven false, just that it is possible that contrary evidence could be found. But if your “theory” that God created the world less than 6,000 years ago can just explain contrary evidence by saying God created million year old fossils at the same time he created the world, your theory isn’t science it’s religion.

A science is the reason I stopped believing in God, though probably not the kind you are thinking of. I went to Catholic elementary school and very much believed in God. Then I went to the Bronx High School of Science. Ironically though, it was 10th grade English that made me rethink my belief. We were reading Greek mythology and I started wondering about the differences between the religious beliefs of ancient Greeks and my own. I realised that while the beliefs were different, the reasons we believed (because we had been taught to believe, others in our community believed, and it offered explanations for things we otherwise wouldn’t understand) were the same. I decided I needed a better reason to believe. Now maybe God did make the world 6,000 years ago, but if he did I figure if he really wanted me to believe he should either have given me better evidence or not given me the ability to reason.

  2. Again with the Rothschilds. Last time I heard that one I laughed so hard I fell off my dinosaur.
