Hi, y’all

Our neighborhood was devastated by high winds. At the moment, my house is not livable, has no power, and I’ve had no way to get internet until now.

But I’m OK, there’s no major damage to house or yard … I’m only mentioning it to explain why I haven’t been able to start the Sunday page until late Sunday afternoon. Things should be back on track within two hours.

  1. Commiserations from Derecho Alley in NW DC. That wind stuff is no joke.
Has taken down some of our best trees over the years – and there are lots of great fairly old trees in this part of town. Just so long as you’re OK, that’s what matters.

  2. Hey –
This too shall pass. First things first. (Some cliches become cliches cos they are true.) You’ve been a machine for years. No one’s going to begrudge you a day or three off if you’ve got to take care of business.

  3. Glad they missed you — I live in tornado country myself, and that kind of weather is no joke.

Stay safe and I hope you and your neighbors can get things back to normal super quick.

  4. Take care of yourself. We can see naked chicks any day but you only have one life.
