“My great and unmatched wisdom”

Michael Che had an interesting point on SNL. Are we sure it’s politically correct to make fun of this guy? It’s like making fun of Lenny in Of Mice and Men. Why do liberals think it’s OK to make fun of Trump, when they would raise a fuss if we made fun of anyone else with obvious mental or emotional problems?

  1. I feel that way about Gary Busey. He suffered a severe head injury in a motorcycle accident and probably has some degree of brain damage. Now, I don’t know if Busey was just as unhinged before 1988 when he was in his accident, but I give him the benefit of the doubt and don’t poke fun at him … well, most of the time.

    1. No, before 1988 he was not unhinged. He gave a number of good performances too.

    2. Busey might be a good guy who had traumatic brain injury, which would deserve sympathy.

Trump is a entitled sociopath who has never done anything except appeal to the absolute worst instincts of people.

      1. I disagree, fwald. Trump has done a wide variety of rotten things, not just appealing to the worst instincts of people. Trump University, for instance. Let’s not sell the man short!

  2. I think it is OK to make fun of Trump because whatever problems he may have that are not his fault, he is a powerful bully and an awful human being.

There is some dialog in the first, largely forgotten Hannibal Lector movie, “Manhunter”, that this reminds me of. The detective hunting the serial killer (not Lector, but one whom he has asked Lector’s aid in catching) says that what happened to the serial killer to make him what he is is a god damned shame and should not have happened to a dog. But now it is too late and he is killing people and needs to be blown out of his socks.

Trump needs to be impeached, and if this is not to cause a lasting uproar, the people who support him need to realize the truth about him – that he is a con man, a buffoon, one of the great narcissists of our time, and very little else. I know there is not much chance of this, but we need to use every means available, including comedy, to try. IMO, anyway.
