They basically had the game won in the first inning when they exploded for seven runs. Their sweep of the Cardinals means that they now have about a week to rest up while the Astros and Yankees sort things out.
The Astros won last night, as Gerrit Cole extended his amazing win streak. He didn’t dazzle this time, but he kept the Yankees off the scoreboard and got the job done. Stros up 2-1.

My old man and I had a running argument for 30 years after I moved down here from NE OH, two years after the Senators left. I said that the problem was two very bad ownerships – one the Griffiths who were cheap, nepotistic, and always ready to go somewhere else for “considerations” and the other Bob Short (as in short on cash) a politically connected (ex DNC chairman) scuzzball who was paid by the locals to move to Texas and then badmouthed DC at every chance.
