Clemson took down THE Ohio State University in a close contest. OSU had more yards, more first downs and more time of possession, but Clemson had more of the only thing that really matters – points. Well, they also led in interceptions, which was the most significant factor in the second half, allowing them to overcome a 16-point Ohio State lead and to stave off a last-minute OSU touchdown. Exciting game.

As expected, Oklahoma was not competitive. LSU’s QB had seven passing touchdowns in the first half, and the Tigers basically spent the second half using up the clock, even playing the subs in the final quarter. Perhaps someday a team in the Big 12 will play some defense. Not today.

  1. I’d also add, both points you made about the touchdown catches and the targeting call? Wrong – and they show you don’t watch much college football.

  2. It was the officiating by, might I mention, southern refs.
The touchdown catch that was a catch.
The targetting call that was a regular tackle.

Those two calls alone would have completely made this a different game.

    Yeah, it was the officiating.

    1. This type of conspiracy theory-driven, “it’s not fair”, loser mentality is exactly what college football followers have come to expect from aOSU fans. Terrific job playing your role.

Good luck next year, enjoy watching LSU/Clemson!

  3. As Sir Charles might say, that reversed TD call was “Turrible”. But it was their mistakes and that cheap shot that cost them the game.

    1. Some bad play-calling from OSU. Too many short yardage running plays leading to 3-and-outs. Biggest problem was Clemson’s pass coverage; Fields couldn’t find quick opens & either threw rushed, made bad choices, or got sacked. Defensively Chase Young was pretty much ineffective, yet again, and their pass coverage was Bungles-like. The game belonged to the Buckeyes with better coaching and more team cohesion, but they threw it away.

  4. 3 red zone trips without a touchdown, 2 dropped TD passes, but sure – blame the officiating.

And don’t forget, aOSU won a National Championship thanks to a terrible PI call against Miami.

    1. Smitty could not have said it better myself and thank you for mentioning the UM game people forget that.

  5. Ohio State competed in a closely contested game against an evenly matched Clemson team, but ultimately was decimated by poor officiating that severely damaged their momentum.
