Trump praises MAGA hat scene from Larry David’s ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’

Trump obviously didn’t watch the show

Larry finds that a MAGA hat is the most useful prop in his life.

Here are some examples:

  • Suppose you don’t really want to have lunch with someone, even though you agreed to, and you’ve completely run out of excuses. Show up at the restaurant wearing a MAGA hat, and they will find an excuse to leave.
  • Are you in a situation where you want a little more room? Put on the MAGA hat and nobody will sit or stand next to you.
  • Is an obvious idiot about to attack you out of road rage? Put on the MAGA hat and they’ll give you a thumbs up.

Larry recently told an interviewer that he wasn’t worried about offending the president or his backers by wearing the hat as what he called “a people repellent.”

  1. Larry David doesn’t need a people repellent as long as he’s got that face.
Steve, no – dibs on Carlin, Pryor, Murphy. Moms Mabley, too. You can have Dice, he’s one of you…never been funny.
If you think conservatives don’t have thin skin, look at Trump. Wait, I wouldn’t wish that on you. Might be better to look at Larry David, honestly.

    1. Oh you have no shot at Carlin, Pryor, or Murphy. You did 30 years ago, as did I. However I’ve stayed the course and you’ve become a bunch of safe space pansies.

  2. Thanks Steve! I now finally have the chance to post the following quote;
“So we must beware of a tyranny of opinion which tries to make only one side of a question the one which may be heard. Everyone is in favour of free speech. Hardly a day passes without its being extolled, but some people’s idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage.”
Winston Churchill in the U.K. Parliament on October 13, 1943.

    1. If you are not VERY careful, Bawitdaba, Steve will call you a fascist. And coming from a tower of righteousness like Steve, that’s really going to sting.

    2. This comment makes no contextual sense. I love all free speech regardless of the content. Say whatever you want but don’t you dare shut anyone down or try to ban them or their comments. There is nothing off limits as far as I’m concerned. Long live Carlin, Pryor, Murphy.

      1. Ummm, sure. The idiot Trump cultists weren’t OUTRAGED! over Kathy Griffin or Michelle Wolf.

Heck, I mentioned here how hilarious it was that Sam Kinison died a horrible death and pleaded for his worthless life just before dying, and a couple idiot Trump cultists here (though it might have been the same person) were OUTRAGED! It will also be awesome when the evil Rush Limbaugh goes to Hell, but I certainly hope that he suffers horribly for a while longer.

        1. Big difference between sarcasm and violence or provoking violence. Also a big difference between making fun of a terminal illness and a persons personality or beliefs. Everyone here is comfortable throwing out the vitriol at the political individuals, but I am sure if it was directed at poster or their families, that would surely be a whole different game.

          1. The point is either you get ‘triggered’ or you don’t.

The whole point of right wingers when it comes to so-called ‘political correctness’ is defining what is ‘politically correct’ and what isn’t. When you make exceptions it just becomes, whenever right wingers were ‘triggered’ it was over something ‘disgusting’ and they had the proper reaction, but whatever ‘triggers’ a non right winger is because they’re an easily ‘triggered’ ‘politically correct’ ‘snowflake.’

Personally, I think it’s wonderful karma that Rush Limbaugh has advanced throat cancer and I hope he suffers 24/7 with it for the next several months and then dies a horrible death. RIH Rush.

          1. And it’s not like I lost sleep because of Kathy griffin did. But she deserved the backlash. The comment above about “rush dying a slow painful death” fits that category as well. I’ve never even heard Rush speak but the poster is actually hoping someone dies painfully from cancer.

          2. The specifics here aren’t worth anybody’s time. The significance is that it’s not hard to show that people claim all sorts of absolutes in the abstract, but claim exceptions to their absolute claims when faced with specifics.

            This is what Steve wrote:
“This comment makes no contextual sense. I love all free speech regardless of the content. Say whatever you want but don’t you dare shut anyone down or try to ban them or their comments. There is nothing off limits as far as I’m concerned.”

Steve has already expressed two exceptions to this absolute standard.

          3. You’re missing the point. It doesn’t offend me if someone wishes Rush would “die slowly and painfully” or if griffin holds up a bloody head. As stated by another commenter, it says more about you than anything else. It means you’re very sick to want to hurt other people. However You don’t have the ability to offend me. To be offended would mean that you or others have control over me which you don’t. I’m not a victim.

          4. I got the point. It doesn’t seem to me that calling something disgusting equates with you loving it.

          5. I most certainly think it’s disgusting and sick for you to say something like that. You’re clearly not stable. But offending me? Impossible.

        2. As a conservative, I have no attachment to Rush. I don’t listen to his show, read his books, etc – even he is too over-the-top for my taste.

However, you are one sick fuck, and your comment says much more about you than it does about Limbaugh. People like you give all communists a bad name.

          1. I’m not a communist, but you and Steve are both politically correct and easily triggered. You two need to both find safe spaces to hide in, loser snowflakes.

      2. “Steve says:
This comment makes no contextual sense.”

The conservatives have no problem being made fun of. The liberals loose their shit and start ranting about how terrible it is to be made fun of, ergo, “some people’s idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage.”

          1. I’ve thought this for a number of years, but some Republican political strategists finally said it after Conor Lamb won the Congressional special election in 2018: Democrats tend to campaign on concrete policy proposals while Republicans tend campaign on’moralistic’ absolutist slogans: “I’m a Constitutional Conservative” “Less government, more freedom.”

It’s always amusing to find contradictions with Republican slogans and watch the right meltdown trying to defend the contradictions.

        1. Bawitdaba, you do realize that this is just your opinion? That the words “conservative” and “liberal” in your post here could be transposed, and it would still make just as much sense? There is nothing in what you quote to support your particular interpretation of the parties involved.

Twisting the words of the dead is easy and fun, because they cannot tell you how wrong you might be.

As for “conservatives have no problem being made fun of” – what color is the sky on your planet? Conservatives have zero tolerance for humor at their expense. Their own height of wittiness ends at calling their opponents “beta cucks”.

  3. It was hilarious. Say what you want but conservatives don’t have thin skin. They even embrace being called “deplorables”. Larry David was destroyed by liberals after his first come back season for being politically incorrect. Comedians like George Carlin would be banned by liberals. Old school Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Andy Dice Clay would be chased out of the Democrat parties. Modern day liberals are no longer the social libertarians they used to be. They have become social fascists (socialists).

    1. Umm, sure. This is why many Republicans themselves have said one of the reasons they voted for Trump was because Hillary called them ‘deplorable.’

      1. Really? Is that what you think? Hilary lost “her turn” because she called conservatives “deplorables”? It’s hilarious. It became a rallying cry about how ridiculous the left is. The funny part about politics is that liberals don’t realize that conservatives mostly troll because it’s funny to watch the left meltdown. Liberals are the only ones who actually take any of this seriously. That’s why Donald trump is amusing. He pisses you off. That’s funny. You’ve all become a bunch of hypersensitive snowflakes

    2. This alternate universe you live in seems… interesting.

It’s hilarious how right-wingers unfailing project their weaknesses onto everyone else. Introspection is definitely not their strong suit.

      1. What weaknesses are you referencing? Are you denying that Larry David was mercilessly attacked by liberals? Or are you arguing that modern day liberals wouldn’t shut down George Carlin? Carlin would be disgusted by what the left has become.

    3. So you’re attempting to cover Trump’s stupidity, Steve? Wasted effort. Why not save just go with it? His supporters do not give a rat’s ass. It makes him one of them, which is a big part of his appeal to them, I guess.
