“Rhode Island will knock on doors and stop cars to find New Yorkers to slow the spread of coronavirus”
That CNN headline (above, within quotation marks) is at least somewhat misleading. They are not looking for New Yorkers, but rather for anyone who has recently been to New York.
This isn’t virus-related, they just want to discourage Mets fans.
The governor of SC, Foghorn Leghorn, made a similar announcement yesterday that anyone who had recently traveled to a high-risk area like NY would have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
My question is, how the hell will they know? Silly shit like this is absolutely impossible to enforce without wholesale changes to the nation’s laws, and is done mostly to persuade the gullible that they’re doing *something*.
