Bernageddon. Biden runs the table.

That was expected. The latest polls had Biden ahead in Florida by 39 points, Illinois by 30, Arizona by 18.

Results:

Excluding votes for other candidates:

  • Biden won Florida 73-27.
  • Biden won Illinois 62-38.
  • Biden won Arizona 59-41

Sanders’ campaign strategists pointed out that a guy is outside their window calling “bring out your dead” and they are thinking of throwing Bernie on the cart.

  1. If Hillary had observed proper network security practices nobody ever would have heard of Comey. But then that’s Hillary.

  2. I love how people think Trump got in because everyone was so enamored of him. It was a hold your nose and vote election for most people. No one I know really liked either of them

    1. SO much this. I would have voted for almost any reasonable GOP alternative to Hillary in 2016, as I generally despise her. But I, and many others, acted like adults and went in there and filled in that little box next to her name even though we hated to do it. We know there are often no good choices, only less bad ones.

It’s called being pragmatic, and it’s what adults do. We’ll see if this sorry little Bernie cult does it in the fall. So far, it looks bleak.

  3. Or, I’m a Democrat that’s tired of watching this bunch of entitled crybabies piss away the future of the party by joining a cult of an un-electable crackpot. Same difference, right?

    1. You’re the one who voted for Hillary – who lost. You were already proven wrong in 2016 by promoting the unelectable candidate in the primary.

Don’t take your anger out on the Bernie supporters who were proven correct.

Bernie would have hammered Trump in the general, Hillary lost because the Democratic Party decided it was ‘her’ time.

      1. Keep crying, that’s fine. I know this is hard for you and your little friends – losing Florida by 45 POINTS must sting as it reinforces how non-viable your “movement” is.

Just dry it up and be a man when November gets here.

        1. Get fucked. Watching your country choose the greater of two evils is bad enough without the likes of you acting like a Yankees fan who just saw the Sox lose.

        2. You mean the Deep South where Trump is going to win anyway? Or the boomer generation that would vote GOP even if Jesus himself was running again them?

Trying to impress me on how stupid the boomer generation and south is really isn’t proving your point. It just proves to me how stupid they are.

      2. Okay, I’ll bite. On what basis are you claiming that Bernie would have beaten Trump in 2016?

It can’t be on the basis of greater voter turnout because if there’s one thing this year’s primaries have shown (again), its that Bernie voters don’t turn out.

Hillary wasn’t “unelectable”, she just made stupid mistakes by not recognizing where the important swing states were.

        1. The same surveys (538, I think) that said Trump had one chance in six of beating Hillary called Bernie a mortal lock against Trump.

          1. The Democratic party could fall ass backwards into a stash of gold the size of Fort Knox, but would convince themselves its not useful because its too shiny and promote a piece of old driftwood for comfortable stability.

        2. So one guy in the comments states Bernie cost Hillary the election because his voters didn’t turn out, and now another guy says they don’t turn out anyway – so which is it? I’m just trying to find this year’s excuse if the Democrat establishment loses yet again to this idiot. Nader, Stein, Bernie – what’s this year’s excuse going to be? Besides the usual of the DNC not blaming themselves.

Bernie is a populist and Trump is a populist. Trump’s populist supporters are idiots, but Bernie would have beat Trump without all of Hillary’s baggage and bitching about Russia. Hillary won all of the Deep South, which meant jack shit in the general because the GOP always wins there anyway.

Bernie beats Trump because Trump can’t beat another populist. His entire message is to punch down for all the racists and idiot Southerners that aren’t going to change no matter what.

Bernie would have beat Trump in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania because he’s not a pro-corporate elitist like Hillary and would have spoke to the blue collar workers. Bernie destroys Trump on anti-establishment messaging because Trump is the epitome of an incompetent wealthy man. Instead of spinning everything into social justice twitter war, Bernie works around it by directly attacking what he is.

The primaries are not the general election, and swung wildly based on the messaging and timing of the electorate. If South Carolina wasn’t on that Saturday and Buttigieg, Klobuchar, and Bloomberg stayed it – the results would be completely different.

Also boomers have fuck all to do during the day so can waddle their decrepit asses out to the polls, while everyone else in the world is working. Make election day a national holiday and the primary a single day national event on a weekend and we would see drastic changes in who is represented if voter suppression wasn’t a favorite tactic of the GOP in general and the DNC in the primaries.

          1. Let’s not forget how James Comey put his thumb on the scale a week before the election…We’ll never know for sure exactly how much impact that had on turnout.

  4. Dr. Smitty is so over-the-top I suspect it’s a troll account set up to piss off Sanders supporters into not voting for Biden.

    Congratulations, Comrade. Job well done.

  5. Dr. Smitty,

I’m here to say – shut the fuck up. Your attitude is why there are Bernie supporters who may not vote for Biden. You are disconcertingly entitled and unaware of that fact.

Biden supporters are the new “Bernie Bros”.

    1. Not voting for Biden is voting for Trump. Stop acting like a spoiled child who wants the perfect solution and pick the better solution.

Or, stay home and shut your fucking mouth after you help Trump get re-elected.

  6. You can blame on coronavirus. Or realize that Bernie’s a terrible candidate that consistently alienated a majority of the party while trying to win their nomination.

Call it what you want. But, you and the rest of the Bernie crowd needs to get out and vote for Biden in November – don’t contribute a second term for Trump the way you did when you threw a tantrum and didn’t turn out in 2016.

Grow up. Be adults. Or, shut your mouths forever.

    1. Alienate the party over horrible ideas like getting corporate money out of politics, put a real plan to make sure climate change that is going to cause a ten times worse ‘lockdown’ situation by the end of the century, resolve the crap people are going through right now in the economy because the wealthy hold all the power – and right to work is right to starve?

Oh I forgot, this isn’t about politics, its because Bernie isn’t nice enough on the microphone and doesn’t make us all feel fuzzy and American with his keywords like Biden does that the old folks love.

And I voted for Hillary in 2016, so the agenda that Bernie cost her the election is bullshit. The same with lies about Nader in 2000. And the same bullshit narrative if Biden loses this year, I’m sure. So don’t give me generalized lies about Bernie supporters, actual factual studies show none o f the shit you just said is true.

And if you want to engage his supporters, acting like a fucking dickhead and demanding people to ‘conform and vote’ to mimic the very authoritarianism hivemind that the GOP employs isn’t going to encourage people, I will tell you that much.

You want to draw Bernie supporters, then join his correct, factual, and studies proven solutions instead of being an asshole about it. Otherwise, fuck off. Acting like Trump supporters to get people to conform isn’t exactly a winning strategy to extend an olive branch to a significant portion of a part of the primary.

        1. Feel free to shut me, or anyone else, up outside of the polling center since you’re so confident about it?

I’m guessing you’ll be stuttering like Biden if you had to confront anyone in person with your little words.

          1. Again, shut up – go vote for Joe.

The thing America has learned during Bernie’s campaign this year? The MAGA bunch and the Bernie crowd are really just different flavors of the same thing. Different brainwashing, different cult, but same stupidity and lack of willingness to be rational. (Thanks for helping demonstrate this, btw.)

One more time: stop whining. Go vote for Biden.

          2. Again, fuck off. What I do or don’t do is not a decision going to be made by some establishment ass kisser.

Hillary proved Bernie was right in 2016, because she lost. Trump wouldn’t even be President so thank people like yourself for that one to begin with.

Anyone who voted for Hillary in 2016 in the primary turned out to be a direct vote for Trump, so you’re culpable in that one pal.

  7. I’ll give Biden credit for sounding the most coherent he has sounded in a long time at the debate. I’m glad Bernie pressed him on issues, eventually Biden just figured out the age old political strategy of unity: just lie.

With all this crap going on, the long it lingers and the more effect it has, is right in Biden’s wheelhouse – even if his policies aren’t great. The GOP’s flaws are magnified bigtime in a crisis, just like Hurricane Katrina, the recession, starting a war in Iraq because of 9-11.

I think for the first time Trump is finally truly fucked.

    1. Assuming he doesn’t “cancel” the Nov election because of the virus. Trump and the Republicans have shown they’re not big fans of the Constitution.

Mitch’s big response to the virus and its consequences for The GOP has been to call on older Federal Judges to resign so Trump can appoint young right wingers to take their place on the bench. Think about that.
