Who is behind the race riots?

If you have George Soros on your betting stub, you are a winner! Man, that didn’t take long.

If you have “the Jews,” you didn’t exactly win, but the book will pay off as a “place” bet.

And you know it’s true, because former game-show host Chuck Woolery tweeted that George Soros was the source of the civic unrest and had funded “violent anarchy against American cities.” I’m sure you know that the code of honor of game show hosts requires them to reveal the correct answer at all times.

Man, that Soros has a long reach. He’s everywhere!

To be fair, various left wingnuts have exactly parallel theories about how the riots are being incited by white supremacist crazies.

To date, note of these theories have been supported with evidence. It’s just the usual spinning and bloviating. The bloviator-in-chief chimed in with “80% of the RIOTERS in Minneapolis last night were from OUT OF STATE.” Minnesota’s governor agreed with that number. The actual number among those arrested was 14% (5 out of 36). Of course, Trump never was too slick on math. He’s the guy who thinks that 17×6= “eleven twelve.”

Of course they are right about me coming in from out of state. I am in Minneapolis now, not to encourage the riots, but merely to profit from them. I only came for the looting, as I do every time there is a significant weather disaster that causes a city to be abandoned, or anarchy in the streets that distracts the police. During that last hurricane in Miami, I really scored some sweet 4k TVs.

I do agree with this Trump tweet:

    1. Well, the Russians do have a history of meddling in US politics. Anything that weakens someone they consider an enemy is something they want to encourage.

On the other hand, Russian interference is NOT required to explain black people being fed up with white policemen killing black people without much reason. Why does ANYONE need to be “behind” the race riots? This is the kind of thing where evidence is needed.

Speaking of which, where do you stand on the subject of the Russians meddling in the 2016 presidential election on behalf of Trump, Bawitdaba? Did that happen or not?

      1. Foreign powers have been meddling in our elections for years. They work both sides of the fence seeing what they can do to influence the voters. My belief is that they mine the public opinion of their propaganda to try and form their political agendas and work the politicians with their knowledge of the public’s opinions.

        1. Bawitdaba said: “My belief is that they mine the public opinion of their propaganda to try and form their political agendas and work the politicians with their knowledge of the public’s opinions.”

I guess I am tired, because I cannot figure out what this sentence means. Any help out there?

          1. “My belief is that they mine the public opinion of their propaganda”

They “foreign instigators” will make statements and see what will cause the public to respond.

“… to try and form their political agendas and work the politicians with their knowledge of the public’s opinions.”

The responses that agree with their statements are then used to show our politicians that the public support the ideas that they have seeded.

          2. I’m not persuaded to believe what you believe, but it is refreshing that you are willing and able to make your point clear.

          3. I’m glad you guys can communicate. I would not have used the word “clear.”

      2. I linked to the Susan Rice article to point out how absurd the finger pointing has gotten.

        1. Indeed. So far all of the outside agitator accusations have been unsupported speculation, anecdotes based on one-off crazies, or just pure lies. (Although I’m not discounting the possibility that some of the accusations may eventually turn out to be true.)

In addition, there’s a big difference between “being behind” the protests and “exploiting” them. The protests themselves seem to be a more-or-less spontaneous expression of collective rage and frustration, but you know how that goes. Various groups and individuals jump in to advance their ideologies, and random criminals and assholes just use the distraction to loot and ransack. (See the video of people looting Van’s.)

Based on the protests of the 1960s, my guess for the next step is that Pepsi tries to exploit the zeitgeist to sell soft drinks.

        1. Bawitdaba, if you want to make an argument, you have to, you know, MAKE AN ARGUMENT, not just drop a 230 page reading assignment on the desks of the people who ask you questions. You want to make a point based on this document? Fine, go ahead and make it. Once you have, we can use this link to see your point in context. Thanks!

          1. The issue of police being overly aggressive to one particular racial group has been discussed ad nauseum. I can point out that the issue of police injuring suspects has gone down since 1970 but you will question the basis of this statement. I present a paper written that addresses the issues. If I point out a quote in the paper, you will say that it is taken out of context or that the author is part of a world wide conspiracy to enslave the masses. Always a no win but I give you a scholarly paper to read and make your own decisions without attacking the Othercrap readers for voicing their opinions.

          2. OK, crime has gone down since 1970, so police injure fewer suspects. Great. Does that mean police are not killing some black people without good reason? In ways that highly resemble murder, or manslaughter? If the cops were killing Bawitdaba’s in the way they are killing black people, would you be upset? Would you protest if it went on and on? Would you riot if the cops kept declaring there was no problem, and everything was the victims fault.

  1. Funny how a group of largely African-Americans get together to protest a murder, and it must be outside agitators that are secretly making it happen, but a group of largely white, conservatives protest COVID-19 and they are able to do it all on their own. No, no racism here, just please move along, move along.

  2. I was a kid during a race riots of the 1960’s, but I believe J. Edgar Hoover felt they were the work of Communist agitators, because why else would black people riot? IIRC, he spied on Martin Luther King non-stop, hoping to find communist connections (among other things).

Boy, everything old is new again.

  3. Are you gonna write about the conspiracy theories your side is peddling too from liberal media about the rioters being neonazis and government agents that want to make the peaceful demonstrators look bad? This country is a joke and not just because of Trump, each side ignores their own nutjobs and liars and focuses on the stupidity of the other side. And you’re doing the same thing.

    1. “Are you gonna write about the conspiracy theories your side is peddling?”

Yes. You didn’t read the post you commented on. I did in fact note that both liberals and conservatives were peddling the same “outside agitator” theories without proof, and I noted that the liberal Minneapolis mayor was citing similar bogus statistics to the ones the president used.

It ain’t my side, by the way. I’m not crazy about liberals either, as you’d know if you look around the blog. I try to stick to naked women, facts and jokes.
