Every Trump conversation is on double secret probation

I should have known. He’s Dean Wormer!

His conversations are not just classified. They’re HIGHLY classified.

Trump is walking into a trap on this one. He is limiting his options to respond when the book is released. I think he will want to claim that Bolton is lying and spreading “fake news.” But he can’t do that if he insists that Bolton is revealing classified conversations. Obviously, fictional conversations can’t be classified. They must be either fake or classified, but can’t be both.

  1. Not to mention the fact that it’ll never hold up in court.

Of course it’s not like Trump will actually do anything — when it comes to legal threats — or anything else, really — he’s the epitome of “… a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing.”

    1. The ratio of Trump’s suit threats actually pursued to suits threatened seems to be running about 1 to 12,000 nowadays. It was so much easier when he could throw out SLAPPs left and right during his days as a “genius” businessman.

  2. Won’t Trump claim that Bolton is lying about everything, but the nasty old government won’t allow Trump to prove he is lying because everything Bolton is talking about is classified? Sort of like the way the nasty old government won’t allow Trump to make his tax returns public because they are being audited by the government?

I mean, Trump lies about everything, and calls everything he feels like a lie. He never offers any proof of what he lies about, or what he calls a lie. The Bolton book is not going to be any different. Having Trump (and Limbaugh, and Hannity, and Carlson, etc.) call it a lie is enough for his base. It’s not like they read books, or doubt anything they hear on Fox.

    1. You may have predicted it, but even for him it would be a stretch to say “I can’t talk about it because I have classified myself.” That truly would be a statement worthy of Dean Wormer.
