“I don’t kid. Let me just tell you. Let me make it clear.”

“President Donald Trump insisted on Tuesday that he was serious when he revealed that he had directed his administration to slow coronavirus testing in the United States — shattering the defenses of senior White House aides who argued Trump’s remarks were made in jest.”

  1. Has there ever been a president that more aggressively torpedoed his own Administration’s attempts at spin and/or defense than Trump?

  2. After watching the clip I would have begrudgingly said he was joking… but now he’s going to say that was his serious tone of voice?

  3. I’d like to have a president where you don’t have to guess if they’re joking (though with Trump it’s pretty obvious he’s not until he’s caught). Unfortunately, Uncle Joe has some of the same problems (“You ain’t black.”) so it might be another four years to be completely free of it no matter what happens.

After Covid and riots already this year, the elections are guaranteed to be madness as well, sigh.

    1. Yes, that’s true, some guy, hasn’t Trump (or his spokescreatures) claimed he was joking after saying something particularly clueless? I can’t remember what it was, but I remember he did, and it was ridiculous, because he has no wit, nor a sense of humor beyond the infantile.

      1. Well, I have to admit that “Kung Flu,” while outed as racist, is actually funny and clever – an obvious indication that he stole it from somebody else.

        1. My twitter icon is taken from a photograph that a bunch of local nurses took with the heading “Kung Flu Fighting” which was a campaign to get people to get their flu shot.

Trump even had to ruin this.
