Jessica Biel in a wet-t-shirt

A .gif of a really great non-nude scene from Summer Catch (2001). Sample below.

And a bikini scene from Summer Catch.

It seemed that the star of Summer Catch, Freddie Prinze Jr, was in every movie about 20 years ago, but I haven’t seen him in a movie in years and years. Seems like I turned my back for a second and he became a gray-haired guy, 44 years old, exactly double the age of his dad when he died. That kind of makes it seem as if Jr and Sr have reversed roles.

  1. I’ve seen him at a local beer/burger joint a few times.

And at the final Los Angeles Wildcats game.

But those aren’t movies, so your point stands.

  2. That scene was probably originally meant to be done topless, Biel probably refused, so a compromise wet t-shirt scene was shot.

  3. I believe he’s been fighting an illness that’s kept him from live action work.

  4. He did some voice work a few years ago on a relatively popular animated Star Wars series call Rebels. As the character Kanan Jarrus His voice is really unrecognizable. It was quite impressive.

    1. Likewise, he also ended up with a line in The Rise of Skywalker. If you could actually distinguish the voices.

    2. I didn’t have trouble recognizing his voice. I think Rebels was an excellent show and Freddy very good in it. Sara Michelle Gellar played a villain on that show. What are the odds?

I watched Chico and the Man when I was a kid and thought Freddy Prinze was very funny. But he must have been in real pain to kill himself and leave behind such a young child. Though I suppose one of the effects of depression can be believing your child will be better off without you.
