Sally Kellerman takes a bath on B&W TV

There’s no nudity, but this one is a real rarity from Oz, encyclopedist of filmed flesh, the Diderot of desire, who found it in a 55-year-old episode of an obscure black and white series from Canada. How does he find this stuff? I don’t know whether this series ever migrated from Canada to the USA, but I don’t remember it at all.

“Seaway was a short-lived Canadian TV series about various law enforcement operatives and set on the Saint Lawrence Seaway. It only lasted for one season of over 30 episodes in 1965 and 1966. In episode eight a young Sally Kellerman was in her underwear.”

  1. The only thing I know is what was published in the L.A. Times – that it appeared in one theater in one midnight showing. Kevin Thomas reviewed it. I’ll find the review …

  2. Great find! Thanks.

An even greater find, however, would be some clips from “Venus”, Sally’s most significant screen nudity. That’s apparent from Playboy’s publication of a single still, completely topless is good light, from that early indie feature, circa 1969.

And yet, 40 years down the road, nothing more from that film has emerged — that I am aware of. If anyone has a clue as to what’s the story with that film, I’d love to hear. According to the Playboy story, it seems to have been directed by her boyfriend at the time and she later regretted making it.
