  1. The total lack of self-awareness and knowledge of history demonstrated by these clowns would be impressive if it weren’t so depressing.

    1. Well, Kevin, what you have described are some of the qualities you WANT in jackbooted thugs. Has Trump gotten them jackboots yet? Well, I suppose he will, if he can get them from Putin.

  2. Republicans used to be at least nominally a pro-family party. Now they are literally tearing families apart and whining about being unpopular because of their actions.

  3. The word Nazi, like racist use to have a strong meaning behind it reserved for the worst kind of people. While both certainly still exist it has been watered down so much by people who use it against anyone they don’t agree with.

    1. I don’t know — given their tactics and practices, I’m not sure that comparing them to the Gestapo is really all that unfair. Granted, they’re not at Gestapo-levels yet (at least that we *know* of), but given their actions and apparent attitudes, I don’t have all that much doubt that they would be if they could.

    2. You’re right, and I would not compare them to the Gestapo or Nazis. I only linked to that Tweet because of irony in their complete lack of awareness – using the familiar Nazi terminology to deny being like Nazis. In that respect, if no other, they were EXACTLY like Nazis.
