  1. Don’t forget that he and Bachmann were the early sponsors of one Stephen Non-Guitar Miller. And with Miller he was an originator of something called “nation-state populism” . Don’t waste a bit of sympathy, not even a neutron’s worth on this clown.
Beauregard must have had one hell of a PR man. A Polk/Bragg level general but somehow lots of the Glorious Causers think he was hot shit.

    1. I think Beauregard was much more popular with his troops than Bragg, and maybe Polk too. It helps your historical reputation if the fighting men like you. And hey, he beat McDowell in at First Bull Run. Then he got on Jefferson Davis’s bad side, and that got him booted from the East.

And didn’t Beauregard put one over on Halleck (?) by pretending to be ready to put up a big fight for Corinth, causing Halleck to take weeks or months to get ready, then giving it up without a fight? That made Halleck look pretty silly.

BTW, the way I feel now, just about any Republican Senator or major politician can go to hell. Anyone who does not speak out against Trump does not deserve office.

  2. And then there’s the “minor” matter of Sessions being a racist…you set a pretty low bar.

  3. You can disagree with Jeff Sessions on the issues. I disagreed with him on a few an I never particularly liked him. Well I did like him better than Ted Cruz but that is a pretty low bar. But I think he got a raw deal. Prior to his confirmation there were extremely nasty attacks on his character. But ultimately he stood up to President Trump and did what he thought the law required by recusing himself from the Mueller investigation. But as a result of doing what he thought was right, he was subject to constant abuse from Trump throughout his service as AG. Then after he resigned, Trump worked against him being able to return to the Senate. Trump is clearly a vindictive snake and perhaps Sessions deserved what happened to him for being the first senator to endorse the Cheeto. Or perhaps because he agreed to work in his administration. But I think he was a man of greater character than his opponents gave him credit for.
