Trump says Kamala Harris is a scary foreign negro, possibly a witch doctor

I just heard it today that she doesn’t meet the requirements.”

  1. So, according to Trump, a law professor said something, which he did. Wow! That’s exactly like Trump said she is a witch doctor!

    1. Trump has previously said suchlike horseshit about the qualifications of Obama, John McCain, and Mitt Romney. This will make him oh for four. But since his moronic following has probably already incorporated the concept it gets him what he wants.

    2. My headline reflects what Trump’s hardcore racist base will hear.

He also said that the author was highly qualified, gives it credence although this is known to be a crackpot theory. Moreover, the author is not just any crackpot, but a crackpot with a specific ax to grind against Kamala Harris. He ran unsuccessfully for California Attorney General in 2010.

Take a guess who won that election!

In terms of the legal issue, there is none and there can be none if you concede that she is a citizen, There are only two types: native-born or naturalized. Since she was never naturalized, she must be native-born. (And of course she was born in the USA, which is the definition of native born.) That is completely cut-and-dried and indisputable. There is simply no way around that argument, unless …

The only possible contradiction to that logic is to argue that she is not a citizen at all, which is really the quiet part of what the author is arguing. Since she was never naturalized, if she is not a native-born citizen, she can’t be a citizen at all, because those are the only two types.

So Trump repeated the crackpot argument of a guy with a very specific ax to grind and claimed it was the work of “a very highly qualified, very talented lawyer,” thus giving it credibility. Of course, very stupid people will hear that, and it will stick in their heads that the black lady is not really eligible to be a candidate, even though there is absolutely zero possibility that such an argument has merit. (And Newsweek admitted it was in error to publish the article, thereby giving the theory credence.)

I guess you can offer a valid argument that Trump is not really racist, but is just too dumb to know better than to repeat crackpot ideas without consulting legitimate scholars. But it seems to me that isn’t much better as a qualification for the presidency.

“Vote Trump. He’s not racist or sexist, just stupid.”

      Catchy slogan.

      1. Yep. Trump’s base wants a racist who will do his darndest to turn the clock back by a century. They are delighted that he is moving to steal the election, because they are a minority and they know it.

I don’t believe someone can be both a Trump supporter and a decent human being any more.

  2. So according to the Trumpkin, if you are a person of color (other than the color orange) you are not a citizen if you were born to an American citizen or if you were born in the U.S. Nothing racist to see her, please move along, move along.
