Seriously … her joke-writing is not bad, but her delivery can be ineffective, in my opinion. Somebody joked at one of those roasts, “Thanks to Whitney for shouting her act at us.” I think that nailed it.
“Ineffective”. What a well chosen word! Tactful, yet makes things quite clear. And why needlessly offend someone, especially a woman as attractive as Ms. Cummings, no matter low the odds of “getting jiggy” with her are? (JK there. That really was a nice way to put it.)
