Many of the games in the series were exciting, but the finale was not. It was a total blowout that the Lakers led 82-46 at one time.

  1. Didn’t know that. But bench Angie? I can also see James Harrison being kept on the bench for any required Laimbeerism. Versatile Hugh Downs does the broadcast and NEOH legend Dick Goddard does the weather. Locally-based Ernest Angley (he is still alive!!) does NOT do an invocation; Akron girl Chrissie Hynde doubles on the National Anthem and the Akron Anthem (“My City Was Gone”). Terry Pluto (formerly of the Akron Freakin’ Journal) reports.
    Serious potential.

  2. The captain of the all time born in Akron team was getting impatient to close things out. His teammates would be Nate Thurmond, Gus Johnson, Steph Curry, and designated distraction Angie Everhart (with “Send it in Jerome” Lane subbing.. That team would win some games.

    1. I think Larry Nance, Jr was also born in Akron. You don’t really need a power forward, but I guess you can move LeBron from small forward to shooting guard and bench Angie. Neither Nance nor Gus would have to put the ball up much in that configuration, and that would give you some outstanding rebounding if they didn’t all trip over one another.
