Texas governor limits election drop boxes to one per county

Obviously a corrupt move to keep the vote down in the major cities, which vote Democratic.

Harris County, Texas (Houston) encompasses 1,800 square miles. It is much larger than the state of Rhode Island and has four times as many people. It also has some of the worst traffic in the USA, so it can take hours to get from one part of the county to another in the worst conditions. Even in the best of conditions, the county is 60 miles wide and congested. This proclamation makes it extremely difficult to get to the one and only drop box – and that’s for middle class voters with autos. It’s almost impossible for people who have to rely on public transportation.

    1. Also the Party of Stupid and, dangerously so, the Party of Contagious. It seems like nobody connected with the White House can be bothered to get cracking on contact tracing.
“The virus is a Democrat hoax to stop the Trump Winning Streak” (the oldest male spawn earlier this year). Btw, check out the stuff coming out on Jr’s screaming gargoyle consort (Guilfoyle). More than a little bit nutty and a little bit slutty.

  1. The fact that the governor of *Texas* feels like he needs to do this in order for Trump to win the state speaks to just how bad the reality on the ground is for him. Even in 2020, for a Republican presidential candidate to be concerned with winning Texas is an ill omen for his chances in the general.

    1. The federal appeals court for Texas is the 5th Circuit…one of the most conservative in the country

  2. Keep the faith. The bastards haven’t pulled it off irrevocably in either place and judges for the most part haven’t been very tolerant of this kind of shit to date. And the Texas thing is soooooo obvious.
I do hope the Dems are better lawyered up than they were in 2000 though. As I recall their ballyhooed top dog ended up being the would be silence- enforcer for Elizabeth Holmes. Didn’t do that very well either.

      1. There are two lawsuits. I presume this includes filing an injunction to prevent this directive from the Governor from going into effect.

  3. Both in Texas and in Pennsylvania, Republicans are giving themselves the power to steal their states electoral votes for Trump if they need to. This goes beyond voter suppression into outright election stealing. There is nothing these people will not sink to.
