“Nation Hopeful For Better Future Where Activist Celebrities Will Finally Shut The Fuck Up”

“I want my kids to grow up in a world without desperate A-listers belting out some dumb-as-shit song about voting.”

I hope they allow non-A-listers to keep doin’ their thing. I never made a move without consulting Danny Bonaduce’s blog.

I have to go with the ‘Duce because Screech had to shut his blog down when he went to jail.

  1. It always amuses me when people complain that celebrities, athletes, etc. should “stay in their lane” or “shut the fuck up” when they themselves fail to stay in *their* lane, much less shut the fuck up. Why is their voicing their opinion any more valid that a celebrity/athlete voicing theirs?

It strikes me as jealousy more than anything (with a healthy dose of racism when it comes to a lot of athletes) — they’re just mad that those folks are actually listened to* instead of screaming into the void as they do.

*We can argue about whether or not society should give this spotlight to celebrities and athletes, but that’s more a question of society’s failings as a whole, not not the fault of celebrities’. Doctor, heal thyself.

  2. If they are A-listers, in what sense are they desperate? Isn’t being desperate for a good thing OK? Is this like being an “SJW”, where you think it’s a good thing when you find out it means “Social Justice Warrior”, but then you find out that the people who say it mean it’s a bad thing somehow, and have managed to make an epithet out of it?

It is very hard to keep up with the times we are living in, and I am doubtful that it is going to get any easier. People tell me I am too negative, though.

  3. I’d be happy if the people who complain about ‘activist celebrities’ stopped electing them as President.
