I’m all in on personal liberties, freedom of expression etc. However as I was attracted to a cute female Ellen, I can’t but feel a bit betrayed. How am I going to explain to myself that I’ve been oogling a trans-man?

Second the motion.
I’m all in favor of people doing anything they like or need to do if it causes no harm to anyone else. The matter of one’s consensual partner or self-identification is really none o’ my business. To quote the great Bobby McFerrin, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”
Can’t say I’m all that surprised. To each their own though. What they elect to call themself has absolutely zero impact on my life so I’m not even going to attempt to make any sense of it beyond their stated preferences. I consider it practice for our eventual transition into posthumanism when the really radical changes can start.
Hopefully I’ll be long gone by then. I know everyone wants the holy grail of immortality and life extension with a cyberpunk-esque transhumanism era likely to begin. The great equalizer to everyone has been that the reaper comes for us all.
Imagine the holy grail being reached, with the wealthy in line first, and probably gate keeping it from everyone else, and then those in power remain in power for near eternity. A Blade Runner dystopia with immortal corporations being run by 1000 year old Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk types who already hoard most of the world’s wealth would be a hell I wouldn’t want to see.
This stuff is like a trigger warning for hardcore conservatives, but I’ll just say, I don’t know and won’t ever know what it’s like to walk in his shoes. I think this is the most famous former actress I can think of that transitioned to a male. I’ll respect any person’s wishes with regards to transition, it’s just hard to keep up with sometimes with incorrect pronoun slips and what the appropriate terms now. So is he now straight, even though the message says transgender and queer? I have no idea how it applies now.
From a scientific end, I always wonder what genes make every person what they are from birth. Reading transgender stories in various articles, it’s as if they know in their brain they should be the opposite sex and are in another body, and I believe science has confirmed patterns in the brain does match what the opposite sex is of the person’s birth. It’s crazy to think that a few genes or amino acids here or there could completely changed our physical functions or brain, from chronic disease and impairments, to gender, to creating a sociopath.
