  1. He did funny walk-ons in “The Larry Sanders Show.” If a star guest dropped out, Rip Torn as Arthur would say “Don’t worry, we’ll get my good friend George Segal, who excels at filling time.” Larry would groan & insist they get the star back. Segal played along with it & came on a couple times to babble as a guest while Larry looked uncomfortable. I never figured out why they picked Segal as an example of a washed-up actor; he was always talented & had a long career. It was more accurate when they used Pauly Shore for that purpose.

  2. The first film I remember seeing him in was The Fun with Dick and Jane in 1977. It probably says something about me not seeing enough George Segal movies but the only other George Segal film I remember watching was 1981’s Carbon Copy. That film is probably only remembered by most people (that remember it) as Denzel Washington’s first. I know I have seen him in other things, I just can’t think of them right now. I think I really should binge some George Segal movies.

  3. And he got to see/feel Streisand’s boobs in her prime, so he had that going for him, which is nice.
Always liked him, may be I’ll search for the “The Owl and the Pussycat” in his honor
