Follow up: Rita Moreno in Marlowe (1969)

Regarding a previous post – a still from the set of Marlowe – two commenters noted that her breasts appear to be prosthetic in this scene. I never gave it any thought before, but after viewing the scene in HD today, I am inclined to agree. It is not completely obvious from the stills below, but her breasts do not seem to move like soft flesh when viewed in motion.

  1. I always assumed that this was a standard issue 60s boob job which are hard as rocks and inhibits natural movement. The shape looks very similar to Pat Berrington’s who also happens to be in the cast of Marlowe as well. I suppose it’s possible the necklace was used to hold the prosthetics in place. She did do a nude scene (butt) in Night of the Following which I think was cut. Marlon Brando kept a still of it and it was found hanging on his desk when he died. You can see it here.

  2. That right tit? That’s a bra line, bra cup, under it. So she had a flesh bra of sorts on over her real chest, and then a flesh colored skin tight top over the top of that. This would be before the days of realistic latex appliances, but a pantyhose style top over a thin flesh colored bra would work with that lighting.
