  3. Mixed emotions. Love the Freak but Phoenix, which for about four decades was one of the most intelligently-run franchises in sports, does deserve to win one someday. Not to mention the Colangelos had an uncanny knack for amassing favorite players of mine in the draft or by trade. Connie Hawkins (my all-time fave), Westphal, Davis, Nance, Sir Charles, Marion, Nash…
    My folks retired out to “the Valley” in 1980 after which you were risking mayhem if you ever tried to get between Mom and the radio when the Suns were on.
