Diane topless and fan dancing in The Big Town (1987)

It’s about time we could see this in good quality. I can’t say that Diane Lane was the most beautiful woman of her generation, but she certainly must be in the conversation.

  1. I enjoyed this movie. It had good people in it besides Diane Lane: Bruce Dern, Tommy Lee Jones, Suzy Amis, Matt Dillon, and Cherry Jones.

(I don’t know why I remember Cherry Jones being in it, because her character didn’t have much too do, but for me, she stole the scenes she was in.)

It also looked good, and I thought it did a good job with the feel of the period. Scoopy was far less enthused, though, as I recall. He did a review of it in the Movie House.

    1. I didn’t hate it. It has a great cast, great atmosphere, Diane Lane’s breasts, and fun music.

My objection to it was that I had seen it a thousand times before, even though I had never seen it before. The plot and the dialogue are culled from … well, pretty much every movie of the 30s.

  2. I’ve only actually seen her movies starting from the late 90s and usually think she looks great, but she was definitely on a another level in the eighties.
